A large number of labels have contributed re-issues throughout the years, Earmark, Metal Is, Sanctuary, Get Back, Castle, Devil's Jukebox, Drastic Plastic Cleopatra, even Universal. This is Part Two of a series aimed at noting and cataloging these labels output.
Italian Label Earmark is a joint venture between Sanctuary Records Group, and Get Back of Italy. Producing 180 gram re-issues with artwork that has garnered mixed reviews (I've read reviews of Black Sabbath releases with the art being simply reproduced from Castel re-issues). In addition, sound quality has also recieved mixed reviews, with some saying that the mastering, which is from digital sources, has in some cases, resulted in a quieter reproduction. Earmark began production in the 1990's.
They also carry an extensive catalog much like a lot of other re-issue labels, (they tend to focus on metal, punk, etc.) and I myself, have purchased quite a few of them from the likes of Motorhead, Venom, Black Sabbath, and the Damned and The New York Dolls. Even Diamond head.
With the Motorhead catalog, their issues tend to be mostly Gatefold 180 gram editions, packaged in their own protective re-closable thick plastic sleeves (as is with all Earmark releases). Unlike Back on Black, Earmark has released re-issues of 7" and 10" records, and even produced some exclusive boxed sets and compilations.
Most releases have also been issued at the same time with a Picture Disc version, usually a joined release between Earmark and Get Back Records.
