Live at The Roundhouse 1978

               

This Live album has gone by a number of titles, "Live 1978". "Live at the Roundhouse", "What's Words Worth" "The First Gig" (which it's not), among others. Some of the releases state that they were incognito, as "Iron Fist and the Hordes From Hell." The date even tends to vary as well.

The truth, It is a gig recorded at the Roundhouse February 18, 1978, on their first tour as support for Hawkwind. Whether or not they were playing as "Iron Fist & The Hordes From Hell", who knows. (why would they? What could they possibly lose by giving themselves the publicity?)

The rights to the recording was owned by Chiswick and the officially released it as a live album in February of 1983 on Big Beat Records. It reached No.71 on the charts. Since then it has been re-released times over, and record labels from all over the globe keep churning these things out like a chicken farm.

 It's been released as "The Watcher" in Canada, "City Kids", "Live Loud & Lewd", and yes, "Iron Fist and the Hordes from Hell." Somewhere, right now, there's another label, another title, another date, their first gig, 2nd, 3rd, under the moniker "Iron Foot and the Boots that Kick You In The Teeth" being discussed, pressed, and so on. So, I've done my best to hunt down all the catalog numbers I could gather, from multiple sources, and I'll bet my first born that there's more out there.

I've givin' up after extensive research, any more would turn my brains to mush, or, if I'm lucky, my whole head would explode, I gave it a go and this is a touch of what we're up against. If there's any completest geeks that want to give it a go, by all means. Mail the results to Lemmy & Co., maybe they could actually retire with all the royalties. I Doubt it though.
